Jessica D'Silva
Soprano
Jessica has been singing from a very young age, performing as a child mostly at family gatherings, much to the delight of her grandmother. Since then her popularity outside of her own personal circles has only increased (much to the delight of her grandmother), due in no small part to her dedication to extending her repertoire to include as many styles and genres as possible. As a result, although Jessica is primarily trained as a classical soprano, she is experienced in musical theatre, pop, blues and jazz in addition to classical and operatic styles.
Jessica has had much experience singing for weddings, funerals and classical recitals, including a radio appearance in 2007 for BBC Radio Merseyside's Christmas program, as a solo soprano. In addition to her classical work, she is a regular member of Maghull Musical Theatre Company, with whom she made her first appearance in 2012 as Emma Carew in Jekyll & Hyde, (a part for which she received a NODA nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical), and performs regularly with a local choir, specialising in traditional choral repertoire. As a result, Jessica is an extremely versatile and well-rounded singer, with experience in most types of vocal performance - she even used to be in a variety of rock and jazz bands.
In addition to music performance, Jessica also teaches singing, piano and music theory, along with baking too many cakes in her spare time.
